The City of Angels: Spot a Celebrity!

Los Angeles is by no means small. It is spread out over a fair distance but, if you are strapped for time and you’re looking for some of the top highlights, you can find many of them in the Downtown area. One such attraction is the Grand Central Market which allows visitors the chance to experience a uniquely L.A. produce shopping and eating experience! The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chinatown, the Disney Concert hall and Little Tokyo are also all located in the Downtown area and are well worth visiting. As you explore the city, you will also notice how the architecture makes this city so special. Take note of structures like the Bradbury Building, The Library Tower and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels for some of the finest examples of captivating architecture in the city.

Hollywood is easily the most famous and visited districts of Los Angeles. It is known throughout the world as the entertainment capital and the ‘Hollywood’ sign positioned up on the hill is a symbol everyone is familiar with. The best that Hollywood has to offer can be experienced in three main boulevards: Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard and Melrose Avenue. Hollywood Boulevard allows visitors to experience the history of the entertainment industry while Sunset Boulevard is where you will find the best nightlife in the city. As for Melrose Avenue, this is the best place to go for a serious dose of retail therapy! As you explore Hollywood Boulevard, make sure that you visit Grauman’s Chinese Theatre where you will find the hand and footprints of the most famous stars in the movie industry. Not too far from here, you will find the Wax Museum and the famous Walk of Fame – which is where all of those commemorative stars have been set in the sidewalk in honour of the most influential participants in the entertainment business.

There are also many other neighbourhoods in Los Angeles to explore like the hip Eastside, the less refined South Central, the San Fernando Valley and other suburbs on the outskirts. Santa Monica is one such location as well as Pasadena, Beverly Hills and Anaheim where you will find Disneyland. Visitors can make the most of the coast by soaking up the sun and enjoying the sand and surf that start in Santa Monica and continue all the way to Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. A popular spot for artists is Venice Beach and this is the place to go if you would like to relax, enjoy people-watching, visit various sports courts and even do some roller skating. Look out for those fun street performers along the boardwalk too!
